The administrators of MICHAEL JACKSON's estate have been hit with a $3.3 million (£2 million) claim from a Los Angeles man objecting to the amount city officials paid out to cover the star's memorial in July (09).
Jose Freddie Vallejos is fuming about the cost of the send off at the Staples Center and furious that tax payers' cash was used to help fund the $1.4 million (£934,000) event.
Vallejos is convinced the amount can be more than doubled when police expenses and other resources are included.
In legal papers, he alleges the expenses were "an illegal gift of public funds in violation of the Constitution of the State of California" and that Jackson's estate "directly benefited from the expenditure."
Vallejos is asking for the $3.3 million to be repaid to Los Angeles' public treasury.
