MICHAEL JACKSON's estate is blocking a bid by the late entertainer's father JOE JACKSON for a monthly allowance of over $15,000 (GBP9,375).
The patriarch filed for a monthly stipend in November (10), claiming he relied on his son's help to survive and had little income of his own.
According to TMZ.com, Jackson asked for the money to cover "maintenance expenses" and to "support his children or grandchildren".
Attorneys for the estate's administrators John Branca and John MCClain have filed papers opposing the patriarch's efforts.
According to court filings, the Thriller hitmaker omitted his father as a beneficiary in his will and trust. The estate claims Joe has failed to show the pop legend supported him while he was alive.
