A woman who alleges she was married to MICHAEL JACKSON has filed suit seeking her slice of the late star's estate.
Shellie Doreen Smith insists she and the King of Pop exchanged vows in a low-key ceremony in a New York City hotel in the 1970s, according to TMZ.com.
She has asked a judge to grant her spousal support.
Smith is the latest creditor to lay claim to the late singer's fortune - on Tuesday (05Jan09) bosses at an investment banking firm launched a bid for $328,299 (£205,200) Jackson is said to have owed them.
And just last month (Dec09) a British woman's fight for rights to Jackson's estate was thrown out of court after a judge ruled she had insufficient evidence to prove she was married to the star.
